ABOUT THE CLASS
Reformer Foundations is where it all begins. Whether you’re brand new to Pilates, returning to exercise after a break, or simply looking for something kinder on the body, this class is designed to meet you exactly where you are. The pace is steady, the cueing is thorough, and the focus is on building a confident foundation you can take into any of our other classes.
Every session follows our Dynamic Reformer methodology of mobilise, strengthen and stretch. We use the Reformer’s spring tension to gently mobilise and lengthen the body, then weave in functional strength sequences that translate directly to everyday life. Getting out of a chair with ease, lifting the shopping without twinges, standing taller through a long day. It’s restorative without being passive, and it asks just enough of you to create real change.
Many of our most experienced members still come to Foundations regularly, because the attention to form and the emphasis on quality movement genuinely improves everything else they do. There really is no better way to heal an overworked body or wake up a stiff one. Suitable for anyone with moderate exercise ability. Absolutely. Foundations is built for beginners and complete newcomers. Our instructors will walk you through the Reformer, the springs, and every exercise so you feel confident from the first session.
Yes. Foundations is restorative but not passive. You’ll work against spring tension throughout and leave feeling worked, stretched and more mobile, just without the intensity of Burn or Control +.
In most cases yes, but please get in touch before booking so we can understand your history and recommend the best route in. Personal Training might suit you better to begin with.
Pre and post-natal attendees need to speak with us before attending. We’ll make sure you’re doing the right class at the right stage, and a Pre Natal Assessment may be required first.
Comfortable, fitted workout clothing and grip socks. We sell grip socks at reception if you don’t own a pair. Bring a water bottle and turn up a few minutes early for your first class.
